Privacy and terms
For the BuilderCult Speedrun application. Written to be read, not skimmed past. Last updated 11 September 2026.
What we collect
Only what you type or upload into the application:
- Your name, email, age, city and country, and an optional phone number.
- Your answers to the questions, including personal stories you choose to share.
- Any links you add, and the optional intro video if you upload one or paste a link.
- The address and browser your submission came from, kept only to stop spam and duplicate submissions.
Why we collect it
To read your application, decide who joins the Speedrun, and contact you about it. Nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers.
Who reads it
The BuilderCult team reviewing applications. Two tools help us along the way:
- Claude (Anthropic) may read your written answers to produce a first-pass summary for the reviewers. A person makes every decision.
- If you use Speak it instead, the clip is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, then discarded. Only the text is kept, and you can edit it before you submit.
Both companies process the data for us and are not allowed to use it for anything else.
Where it lives
Applications are stored with Supabase, a hosted database provider, in a private project only the BuilderCult team can access. Uploaded videos sit in a private bucket that is never public.
Being featured. One question asks whether you would be comfortable being featured on BuilderCult. Answering yes is not consent to publish anything specific. We will always ask you before sharing your name, face, story or work publicly.
How long we keep it
Applications from people who are not selected are deleted within twelve months of the cohort starting. If you are selected, we keep your application for the length of the program and delete it within twelve months after it ends, unless you ask us to keep it.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, at any time, and we will do so within thirty days.
- Withdraw your application by emailing us. Withdrawal never counts against you.

Cookies and storage
The application form saves your draft in your own browser so you can come back to it. Nothing is sent to us until you press Submit. We set no tracking cookies and run no analytics on this page.
Under 18
You can apply under 18, but the first cohort is for builders 18 and over. If you are under 18 and not selected, your application is deleted within ninety days.
Application terms
- Applying is free. There is no program fee.
- Selection is at BuilderCult's discretion and does not guarantee success, revenue, users, store approval or a feature.
- Launchpad is BuilderCult's internal tool, where it ideates, builds, launches and distributes its own apps, and it is not publicly released. Access given to a selected builder is personal and must not be shared or handed to anyone else.
- Selected builders receive Launchpad credits. Third-party costs such as AI subscriptions (Claude Code, Codex), APIs, domains, hosting and developer accounts are yours unless BuilderCult confirms otherwise in writing.
- What you build is yours. BuilderCult claims no ownership of your idea, code or product.
- Your application must be truthful. A false application can be withdrawn from consideration at any stage.
